Apprenticeship Programme

Turfsoil are pleased to support Friends of Greenwich Park and the Royal Parks Apprenticeship Programme.

The Royal Parks Apprenticeship Programme

Turfsoil currently has one apprentice on the scheme, Zoe Basham who is approaching completion of her first year. The Royal Parks' GROW apprenticeship scheme, now in its second year, is run in a partnership between Royal Parks, Turfsoil and other landscape maintenance contractors and Capel Manor College. Each week apprentices spend four days learning landscaping and horticultural techniques at their assigned park and one day in the classroom. Apprentices gain experience in the care and management of public and private gardens, sports grounds and green community areas. This involves maintenance of lawns, borders, trees, shrubs, hedges, herbaceous plants and bedding. On completion of the three year course, participants will achieve NVQ Levels II & III in Amenity Horticulture.
